This is a great place for outdoor recreation. Enjoy the playground, public beach access to the South Fork of the Eel River, 3.5 miles of interpretive trails; hiking, birdwatching, bicycling, swimming, kayaking, horseback riding, picnicking, a disc golf course, a meditation labyrinth and a skate park.
From the South - Take the Garberville exit off Hwy 101. Proceed to the stop sign in the middle of town. Turn left on Sprowel Creek Road . The park is less than 1 mile from Garberville. The main entrance is on the left hand side of Sprowel Creek Road and has a sign at the main gate.

- Birdwalks at the Community Park are offered the third Sunday morning of each month, weather permitting. The birdwalks start at 8 a.m. in the summer and 9 a.m. in the winter. No dogs please.
