Rio Dell is located in the Eel River Valley, 240 miles north of San Francisco.
In the immediate area, visitors can picnic, camp, hike, bike, swim or fish. Other attractions nearby are the Victorian Village of Ferndale (15 miles), ocean fishing, surfing, clamming, beach combing and scenic backroads to explore.
Rio Dell, "the Warm Hearted City," offers warm summers and you won't want to miss the annual Wildwood Days festival held the first weekend of August, featuring a parade, barbeque, logging show, and duck race.
Across the Eagle Prairie Bridge (the shortest Highway in California) is the company town of Scotia. Visit the historic logging musem (open summer months) and don't miss the Fisheries Exhibit, featuring Humboldt County's largest indoor aquarium.
