Perilous Plunge into the Bay

Saturday February 11, 2017
Watch hearty souls dressed in costume parade down F Street and plunge willingly into the cold waters of Humboldt Bay.
This event started on a dare and grew to one of Eureka's most fun fundraisers as people accept the challenge to plunge in, sponsor someone else to jump, or just buy their way out. Great fun for everyone! Join the crowds at the waterfront along the boardwalk in Old Town and watch the fun unfold.

Plunge Parade at 10am: Costumed participants saunter three blocks from the museum to the F Street Boardwalk. Then---THEY TAKE THE PLUNGE.

DJ'd by a local radio station.
Attend our Post Perilous Plunge Party after the Plunge! The party will be at the corner of F and First Street Eureka. We'll have snacks, Plunge Punch (for adults ages 21+), and great auction items! Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children 6 and up.
For the past 15 years, folks from our generous community have been jumping into the cold Humboldt Bay in wacky costumes to help raise money for the Discovery Museum. 2017 marks the 16th Annual Perilous Plunge, and we want to invite you to become a part of our team. The Perilous Plunge is the Discovery Museum's only large fundraiser of the year. The Perilous Plunge enables us to develop new exhibits, programs and camps, provide scholarships and free programs to the community, and maintain low admission and membership rates.
